After reading Vipin Gupta’s article, titled “How I Built a Personal Board of Directors with GenAI” (MIT Sloan Management Review, 7/21/2025), I am fascinated by the idea of reaching out to anyone I want (living or deceased), anytime I need to, and inviting them to help me tackle my biggest challenges and seize my greatest opportunities. It seems we no longer have to imagine it; we can make it happen today.

In Gupta’s case, his board of advisors includes people ranging from Buddha, Nelson Mandela, and Sun Tzu to Meg Whitman, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, and several more – all of whom consider whatever query he poses to them from their unique perspective.
